Reginald Cox is the Originator of the Changing Lives Father’s Program. He is also Pastor of Changing Lives Worship Center in Rochester, NY. He is one who loves speaking, teaching and guiding men and fathers in this life into a better future.
Reggie was born in La Grange, GA. He was raised in Rochester, NY. Reggie is married to Renee Cox and has ten wonderful children. In his early years, Reggie struggled with rejection, lost hope and various challenges in becoming a young man. Reggie has had to overcome several challenging aspects of fatherhood in his adult life, as well.
Reggie’s passion for youth was centered around his desire to have a connection with his father growing up. Football was an outlet for several years as a teenager, then other negative coping mechanisms became the norm as he became a father while in college. His life spiraled out of control and it was with his faith he found value again.
In 1998, Reggie began working with fathers at The Family Resource Centers of Rochester. He has been working with fathers for twelve years and as a result he has gained vast knowledge in determining and providing resources for their needs. In 2004, Reggie was able to pursue a pastoral position with The Salvation Army. His experience as a pastor allowed him to hear several stories of painful relationships of fathers not mended from the past between fathers and their biological parents and the pattern of these father’s fearing the same fate for their own children. It helped build a greater compassion to help fathers through the church and quality programs addressing these issues and concerns and Changing Lives for Men was born. He found a lot of stigmas caused the father’s to have a negative views in society and he wanted to change view – this while at the sane time empower fathers to be involved in the lives of their children more effectively. Reginald’s Fatherhood Connection has a particular interest in working with fathers AND mothers recovering from addictions, hurts, and tragedies.
In addition to being a pastor of Changing Lives Worship Center, Reginald is a well-known trainer and motivational speaker and consultant in the Rochester area, and surrounding counties. He has also spoken in the Monroe county jails, various rehabilitation centers, the YWCA, the Salvation Army, and the Volunteers of America. He has over 20 years of experience in the human service field. Reggie has begun programs in Monroe County, near Rochester, NY and his curriculum has bee adopted by Monroe County Dept. of Social Services and surrounding counties. His desire is to teach and train others on how to implement father’s programs across the nation and around the world.
